I’m not one to journal every day (as much as I would love to), so I created a daily photo journal in this app. At the end of the year, I’ll print out a photo book to save.

Some people turn January into a no-shopping challenge month. Here are details and a free printable on executing one successfully.
Maybe not shopping sounds a little too intense. You could do a grocery no-spend challenge month instead.
Could you go a full year without buying new clothes? Here’s my story and lessons learned.
A note from Happy Simple Mom:
It’s almost here, my favorite time of the year, the New Year!
I’m not one to go down the rabbit hole of New Year’s resolutions year over year, but I do have a bit of a bias towards them.
You see, it was a New Year’s goal that led me down this simple living journey. I decided I was going to clean out my closet. It was just a single bag. No big deal.
Then, as I was flipping through several hangers of clothes with tags on them still, I realized I had a problem.
This led me into a 30-day (then extended into a full year-long) no-clothes buying challenge. Say what?! I know. It was crazy but so were my spending habits on new clothes.
Anyways, that year started with clearing out a single bag of clothes, which led me to a year of living with less in all other aspects of my life.
It was the year I learned less really was more.
It wasn’t always a smooth journey. I cried. I had fights with my family. I made my kids cry. I made mistakes.
I also gained more time. I started to focus on what really mattered. I wasn’t spending all my time cleaning. It was more great than hard.
After years of helping thousands upon thousands of readers and continuing to declutter my own home, I’ve learned a thing or two about this whole decluttering thing, and I can’t wait to share my secrets with you.
Mark your calendar for January 1st when we start the 5:15 Decluttering Challenge! It’s going to be a blast.
I’ll be posting daily in our community Facebook group and on Instagram.
Enjoy your week. Soak in all the extra time with the special people in your life. Then, we will worry about the clutter on January 1st.
Sincerely,
Brooke, Happy Simple Mom
